Continuing on our photography retreat in Asheville, NC we had our second scheduled shoot…a beautiful girl who has a love for dance. This child’s personality glows. She has a performer’s mind set and I know she must dance gracefully on the stage. We first shot some ‘senior’ type poses and then went on to her dancing. This was a fun one!!!
I haven’t made it a secret that I love my local group of photography ladies. This past weekend we had a blast traveling to the mountains of North Carolina for photography, fun, and girl time! First up was this sweet family. I don’t think we could have chosen better models. They needed little to no direction and we were able to get the most beautiful images for them. And to think, they have never had professional pictures taken before! Pff, I’m not sure I believe that after I plugged in my card to my computer 
It just goes to show that if you have fun and be yourself, everyone can get photos that they will treasure. No model experience required!
I am afforded the most amazing opportunities because of a certain group of gals. My latest, TWINS!!! How exciting! A little boy and little girl babies packed into the most adorable little newborn squishiness! It is so interesting to see how noticiable the temperment difference is between two children. The boy would let us move, shape, and place his noticably bigger twin sister on top of him. He was such a champ! Sis on the other hand, she has a girl’s personality; ‘I want to do what I want to do when I want to do it’. But they were lovely babies and I would not hesitate to snuggle either or both all day given the opportunity!
Work has taken a lot of my time, which leaves little time to get out and shoot. Not to mention cold just brings me down; I’m a warm weather kinda gal! I had the pleasure of shooting my cousin and her sweet husband, who are expecting their first little bundle any day now! Can I just say how fun these two are?
I have done a bit of personal development photo taking in the past month or so. It has been fun doing things for myself and really enjoying it! These are just a few I’d like to share.

The winter weather has caught up to this great state of NC! It’s horribly cold and rainy. Not much for getting outside in the cold, so I must be creative with what I shoot in my free time. This morning it was the ever present kitty, Dewey. He makes a great subject (especially when his favorite cat-nip filled toy is involved!)
There is a very nice cedar tree in my side yard. Before Christmas I noticed these really pretty blue berries on them. I knew I wanted to do something with them, and today seemed like a good day to play around with some still life and macro shots.
As the new year turned, I had the opportunity to document this great couple’s engagement! They are not only sweet, but so cute. I could certainly tell that they are both ready to commit the rest of their lives together. Paige (a teacher and softball coach) and Zach (a minor league baseball pitcher) certainly look like they are made for one another. I wish them the best as they take that next step in their journey!!
